THE PURPOSE OF 2:52
Being a teenager and a student is an important season of life. It’s a time where we grow and mature as we begin to understand independence, responsibility, and how to face real-world challenges. Studies show that the years spent in middle school and high school are the most personally formative years of our entire lives.
2:52 is a discipleship course that equips middle school and high school students with the objective truth of God’s Word to help them grow as Jesus did in Luke 2:52:

Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.
HOW IT WORKS
Each session of this course will help students build a biblical foundation for their life by covering topics that are relevant and apply to what they’re going through today. Students can begin the 2:52 Student Discipleship Course in one of two ways:
Small Group or Discipleship Course
This model includes a “hard start/stop” and is designed for students to complete the course in 10 weeks. This model is also more relational, as students will be engaging with other students and leaders. Students are invited to gather offsite as a Small Group, or attend on a Sunday morning at their location. Even then, students will be expected to complete their session study guides and return them to a Student Team leader.
This model is designed for students to begin anytime and complete each video session at their own pace. After completing the study guide for each session, students must return their study guide to the Student Table during one of our weekly services in order to receive the next sessions study guide. Students will also receive ongoing coaching and encouragement throughout the course from a member of our Student Team as they move through each session.
Self-Paced
Both 2:52 models will challenge students to stay connected at Vintage Church by attending weekly services as well as becoming a member of our church through attending a membership event or social, and joining a Serve Team. Our hope is that students will be encouraged and empowered to find their purpose and take their place here at Vintage Church.
PARENTS,
We want you to know that 2:52 is designed to give your student a Biblical worldview while focusing on subjects your student needs to know most. We also partner with you by supporting and encouraging your student as they progress through the 2:52 Discipleship Course.
Each week a member of our student team will be reaching out and connecting with your student to help them process what they’re learning by listening and answering any questions they may have about that week’s topic. The objective will be to equip them with a Biblical worldview as they grow in their faith over time as well as connect them to the other students at Vintage Church.
It is important that you join us in this process by prioritizing attendance during weekly services and showing an interest in helping your student progress through and complete all course requirements.
RECOGNITION & PERKS
Upon completion of 2:52, students will be recognized and given a certification of completion and a personalized study Bible. Students and families will be invited to an in-person graduation ceremony as a part of our Weekly Services.
Students will also receive a discipleship discount of 50% off for Summer Camp the following summer and be invited to serve on the Student Leadership Team at their location.
