In a world concerned with getting ahead and obtaining more at all costs, no wonder we feel suffocated by the financial burden of it all. It’s into this world that Jesus speaks, offering us a different way of living. The key to building wealth Jesus’ way can be summed up in a single word – stewardship.

Wiser is a course designed to help you navigate your life with wisdom, building wealth the right way.

In this eight-week course, you will learn biblical principles about building wealth and honoring God with your most valuable resource, your life. Everyone manages their money; you can manage it wiser.

The Wiser Book and Workbook are available for purchase at the Energy Bar in the Commons of your location during weekly services.

SESSION ONE
The Wise Builder

In a world rampant with opportunities to make bad decisions at every corner, wisdom matters. Because we are all builders, everyone is building something. The problem is that without wisdom, we usually build our lives on the wrong foundation. The storms in life come regardless of what they are built on, so learning how to have the right foundation is one of the most important things we will ever do.

SESSION TWO
Sowing & Reaping

Bad things in life will happen – this is as sure as death and taxes – and often, we wish that life were more fair. Lucky for us, it isn’t, or Jesus wouldn’t have paid the price for our sin. While the Bible doesn’t seem to say much about fairness, it has much to say about fruitfulness and how to achieve it. Wisdom and diligence go together like peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream – so it is only through working hard that we will reap blessings from God, regardless of how bad our current situation is.

SESSION THREE
Honor & relationships

Honor starts with God, but as the foundation of all meaningful relationships, it’s also key to your success. To honor God and others, we have to learn how to be a wise person relationally – and the Bible gives us a clear picture of what that looks like.

SESSION FOUR
Fundamentals Of Faith

Faith isn’t just some overused word in Christian movies, it’s a real, tangible thing that allows us to overcome the inevitable setbacks and troubles we face in life. Fortunately, by learning what Biblical faith is not, we can better understand what it is – only then can we learn to grow and increase it.

SESSION FIVE
Four Traps

At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter what we intend to do with our lives, only what we actually do. It is this truth that leads so many to finish the race of life wondering where all that time went and how so little was accomplished. The truth is that living a wiser life never happens by accident, it can really only happen when we plan for it, and that takes vision.

SESSION SIX
The Stewardship Plan

Building a diligent life takes practice and hard work. For many of us, it feels like we’re barely treading water financially, let alone making a budget and plan to stick to. While our contentment shouldn’t be found in how much money we have, following God’s plan for financial stewardship is really the only guaranteed way to achieve financial peace in our life.

SESSION SEVEN
God First

So many things in life are fighting for our attention: social media, our kid’s softball games, dance classes, friends, and more. Often, we feel tension because the things we spend our time on don’t match up with what we value most, but life can be different. By prioritizing God before anything else and being fully devoted to Him, we can begin living a life that is better than we ever imagined.

SESSION EIGHT
Legacy

Living for ourselves brings temporary pleasure but living for God and others is eternal. In a world obsessed with instant gratification, being a follower of Jesus often means sacrificing a bit of that desire for instant in exchange for a legacy that lives on after us. Through the good times and the bad, it’s trusting God that changes our future and the future of those come after us.
